One of the main means of reducing private transport and associated air pollution is the development of public transport. The following measures were taken to promote public transport:

• New 23rd Metro Station was opened;
• Gradual replacement of the existing obsolete diesel buses to modern (EURO 6) and more environmentally friendly vehicles is in the process;
• The decision was made to complete replacement of existing obsolete diesel, which will be carried out by the end of 2019;
• In 2020, the public bus fleet of Tbilisi will be increased by 200 vehicles and at the end of 2020 there will be about 900 new buses;
• Many streets were arranged for public transports through developing bus line newtork;
• The cable car roads were opened.
