Ambient Air Quality 13-15 November, 2019

The National Environmental Agency continues permanent monitoring of the ambient air quality. The concentrations of main pollutants are determined in Tbilisi, Batumi, Rustavi and Kutaisi.

As a result of monitoring, it was registered rise of particulate matter concentrations on the whole territory of Georgia over the past few days. The rise of particulate matter concentrations is mainly connected to transboundary pollution and is caused by the intrusion of dust masses from the Sahara, Arabian Peninsula and Central Asian deserts.

On 13th of November PM10 concentrations exceeded the limit values 1.8 times on Tsereteli Avenue and in Varketili, 1.5 times in Vashlijvari, 2.1 times in "Ilia Garden", 2.8 times in Rustavi, 1.1 times in Kutaisi and 3 times in Batumi; on 14th of November  - 1.7 times on Tsereteli Avenue and in Vashlijvari, 2 times in Varketili and Batumi, 2.5 times in “Ilia Garden” and 3.4 times in Rustavi; on 15th of November -1.7 times on Tsereteli Avenue and in Varketili, 1.8 times on Kazbegi Avenue, 1.1 times in Vashlijvari, 2.4 times in “Ilia Garden”, 3.3 times in Rustavi, 1.4 times in Kutaisi and 2.3 times in Batumi.

The National Environment Agency continues permanent monitoring of the air quality and provides information to the public on a weekly basis.
